My Story

My name is Hassan, and I’m a 24-year-old aspiring software engineer from Gaza. I’m writing this with a heavy heart — and a hopeful one. Like many others in Gaza, I grew up under siege, but I always clung to my dreams. I was halfway through my software engineering degree when war changed everything.

When an Israeli shell hit our apartment, I was injured, and my family lost our home. Since then, life has been about survival. My studies have stopped, and we are struggling to afford even basic needs like food, medicine, and rent.

Who I’m supporting

I am raising these funds for myself and my family — my parents and two younger siblings — all of whom are displaced with me now. We are currently living in extremely difficult conditions in southern Gaza after being forced to flee the north.

How funds will be used

  • Emergency living expenses (shelter, food, hygiene, medication)
  • My university tuition, so I can resume my degree online or abroad
  • Seed funding to develop an online academy to teach digital skills to Arab youth affected by war and poverty

This academy is not just my dream — it’s a way to give back. I want to help others like me who have lost their paths but still hold on to hope. By building a platform that offers free or low-cost training in freelancing and tech skills, I hope to create opportunities where none seem to exist.

How I’ll access the funds

At the moment, I am in Gaza, but I have a verified bank account ready to receive any support via international transfer (or through a trusted contact abroad if needed, depending on restrictions).

From the bottom of my heart — thank you. Your support means more than money. It’s a vote of confidence in my future, my family’s survival, and a dream to help others build new lives through digital empowerment.
